F.A.Q – Fly-N-Stay (Puerto Rico)

Do I need a passport?
A: Puerto Rico is U.S. territory and does not require a passport for U.S. citizens. A valid non-expired driver’s license is the only requirement for travel to Puerto Rico. 

 

I am not a U.S. citizen, what documents do I need to travel? 
A: Non-U.S. citizens must call the U.S. Customs Office at 1-800-375-5283 to find out what documents are needed to travel. Failure to provide proper documents does not constitute a valid reason for monies refunded.

 

What is your refund policy? 
A: If you cancel more than 60 days prior to your departure date, you will receive a full refund minus your $400.00 deposit. If you cancel less than 60 days prior to your departure date, you will not receive a refund. The deposit portion of your payment ($400.00) is never refundable, nor is it transferable to another person. Please note, some resorts require full non-refundable payment to confirm the reservation. If so, it will be listed in the hotel description.  

 

What is your policy concerning name changes and date changes? 
A: Homeland Security will no longer allow name changes or date changes on an airfare ticket. If a member of your party can no longer travel, their reservation must be cancelled with the airline. A new reservation must be made for the passenger taking their place. The $400 deposit payment will be lost with the cancellation and cannot be transferred to the new passenger. Please note, airfare pricing will increase and availability will decrease as we get closer to your departure date.  

 

Are there any extra taxes or fees that will be added to my package price? 
A: $99 will be added to each package price for taxes and processing fees. Some resorts may require that hotel tax be paid by the traveler at check-in (call for details). All taxes and fees listed above are per person.

 

Can I use U.S. currency while in Puerto Rico? 
A: Yes, and all major credit cards.

 

Is there a minimum age requirement for student spring break packages?
A: 18 for the Fly-N-Stay (Puerto Rico) package unless otherwise noted in our hotel description.    

 

Should I drink the water while in the Puerto Rico? 
A: It is considered safe to consume local drinking water in Puerto Rico. 

 

Are the restaurants very expensive? 
A: Most menu selections range from $5 to $15 depending on the restaurant.

 

Are there fast food & American-style restaurants in Puerto Rico?
A: Yes, the island caters to the American and European tourist. The island offers a Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and others. There are also Italian, Japanese, and Mexican restaurants.

 

Where does the flight depart? 
A: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

 

What is the flight departure/return time? 
A: Multiple departure times exist for this package. Availability changes frequently. Please contact an agent via phone or email to see what departure times are still available for your spring break week. 

 

How early should I check in at the airport in Fort Lauderdale and in Nassau Bahamas? 
A: Homeland Security requires all passengers check in no later than 2 hours prior to departure for any international flight. 

 

What are the days of departure? 
A: The flight departs from Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Your 5-day package will be Sunday-Thursday, Monday-Friday, or Tuesday-Saturday.

 

How long is the flight from Fort Lauderdale to Puerto Rico? 
A: Flight time averages two hours and thirty five minutes from Fort Lauderdale to Puerto Rico. 

 

What are the luggage restrictions for the Fly-N-Stay (Puerto Rico) package?  
A: Each customer is allowed one personal item (purse, small backpack, briefcase, laptop, etc.) plus one carry-on bag. Including wheels and handles, carry-on bags must not exceed 22″ L (55.88 cm) x 14″ W (35.56 cm) x 9″ H (22.86 cm) and personal items must not exceed 17″ L (43.2 cm) x 13″ W (33 cm) x 8″ H (20.32 cm). First checked bag is $60. Checked bags must not exceed 62″ (157.48 cm) in overall dimensions (length + width + height) or 50 pounds (22.68 kg). Bags that don’t meet the dimensions and/or weight restrictions are considered oversized and/or overweight and will be charged an additional $150.00 fee. 

 

What is the weather like in the Bahamas? 
A: Perfect. Year-round temperature average is 85 degrees Fahrenheit in lower elevations, 70 degrees in the mountains. Nights are slightly cooler.

A: If you find the same package advertised for less, we’ll drop our price to beat it. Our lowest price guarantee is valid for new bookings only.

 

What is your policy concerning weather-related cancellations/changes? 
A: No credit or refund will be given by the airline, hotel, or travel agency in an “Act of God” scenario (i.e. weather-releated change or cancellation). Your travel dates will automatically be shifted to the next available flight time/check-in date. 

 

What is the legal drinking age in the Puerto Rico? 
A: 18 years old

 

What is the legal gambling age in the Puerto Rico? 
A: 18 years old

 

Are all resorts on the beach? 
A: No. Some resorts are on the beach and some are not. Free beach shuttles are available at many resorts.

 

Will we need to pay a damage deposit? 
A: Some resorts require a cash-only refundable damage deposit. Most resorts require a credit card be placed on file. The card will not be authorized or charged unless you destroy the room or hotel property.

 

If driving to Fort Lauderdale, where do I leave my car while I am in the Bahamas? 
A: You will leave your car in the secured long-term parking area at the airport. The rate is $15 per car/per day. If you have booked the Florida hotel with your package, you may leave your car at the Florida hotel for $7 per car/per day. Round-trip transfers (airport to hotel) are provided with our Florida hotel add-on package. 

 

Are local telephone calls free from our resort hotel room? 
A: No. Information available at each resort.

 

What type of products can I expect to find in the shops?                                

A: Brand-name clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, and electronics. 

 

Is it possible to add or subtract days from the standard 5-day/4-night package? 
A: It may be possible to add or subtract days depending on your needs. Contact an agent for details.

 

How many people can stay in one room in the Puerto Rico? 
A: 4 people maximum in one hotel room. 

 

If I wish to fly direct to Puerto Rico from my city, what can I expect to pay for airfare?
A: Prices will vary depending on departure city.
