F.A.Q – Cruise-N-Stay (Grand Bahama)

Do I need a passport?
A: You must have a valid non-expired passport book to board all cruise ships associated with our packages. Please keep in mind it can take up to 3 months to obtain them.


I am not a U.S. citizen, what documents do I need to travel? 
A: Non-U.S. citizens must call the U.S. Customs Office at 1-800-375-5283 to find out what documents are needed to travel. Failure to provide proper documents does not constitute a valid reason for monies refunded.


What is your refund policy? 
A: If you cancel more than 60 days prior to your departure date, you will receive a full refund minus your $150.00 deposit. If you cancel less than 60 days prior to your departure date, you will not receive a refund. The deposit portion of your payment ($150.00) is never refundable, nor is it transferable to another person.


Are there any extra taxes or fees that will be added to my package price? 
A: $99 will be added to each package price for taxes and processing fees. Some resorts may require that hotel tax be paid by the traveler at check-in (call for details). All taxes and fees listed above are per person.


Can I use U.S. currency while in the Bahamas? 
A: Yes, and all major credit cards.


Is there a minimum age requirement for student spring break packages?
A: 18 for the Cruise-n-Stay package. Children are permitted if traveling with their parent or legal guardian.  


 Should I drink the water while in the Bahamas? 
A: The water is slightly salty, but completely safe.


Are the restaurants very expensive? 
A: 15% gratuity is included on the price of every meal in the Bahamas, therefore, it seems higher at first glance. Menu selections range from $5 to $15 depending on the restaurant.


 Are there fast food & American-style restaurants on Grand Bahama?
A: Yes, the island caters to the American and European tourist. The island offers a Subway, McDonalds, Burger King, and KFC. There are also Italian, Greek, Japanese, and Mexican restaurants.

A: Fort Lauderdale, Florida


What is the cruise departure time? 
A: 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Must check in no later than 6:00 a.m.


What time does the cruise ship depart from the Bahamas? 
A: 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Must check in no later than 4:30 p.m.


What are the days of departure? 
A: The cruise departs from Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Your 5-day package will be Sunday-Thursday, Monday-Friday, or Tuesday-Saturday.


How long is the cruise from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas? 
A: The ship departs Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 8:00a.m. and arrives in the Bahamas at 11:00a.m. The ship departs the Bahamas at 6:30p.m. and arrives back in Fort Lauderdale at 9:00p.m.


What are the luggage restrictions for the cruise -n- stay package? Extra baggage fees? 
A: Each passenger is allowed one carry on item. Maximum Dimensions for a carry on item is 22 inches x 18 inches x 10 inches ( length x width x height), maximum weight: 26lb.  Any luggage item exceeding these dimensions is required to be checked at a cost of $25.00 USD each way.  Any bags or suitcases beyond the one free carry on will be checked at a cost of $25USD each way. 


What is the weather like in the Bahamas? 
A: Perfect. Year-round temperature average is 87 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights are slightly cooler.

A: If you find the same package advertised for less, we’ll drop our price to beat it. Our lowest price guarantee is valid for new bookings only.


What is your policy concerning weather-related cancellations/changes? 
A: No credit or refund will be given by the cruise line, hotel, or travel agency in an “Act of God” scenario (i.e. weather-releated change or cancellation). Your travel dates will automatically be shifted to the next available cruise date. 


What is the legal drinking age in the Bahamas? 
A: 18 years old


What is the legal gambling age in the Bahamas? 
A: 18 years old


Do I need to rent a car while in the Bahamas?
A: Rental car agencies are available, but not needed. Tourist vans are available at each resort. Rate= $0.75  per person/per destination. 


Are all resorts on the beach? 
A: No. Some resorts are on the beach and some are not. Free beach shuttles are available at many resorts.


Will we need to pay a damage deposit? 
A: Some resorts require a cash-only refundable damage deposit. Most resorts require a credit card be placed on file. The card will not be authorized or charged unless you destroy the room or hotel property.


If driving to Fort Lauderdale, where do I leave my car while I am in the Bahamas? 
A: You will leave your car in the secured long-term parking area at the ship port. The rate is $15 per car/per day. If you have booked the Florida hotel with your package, you may leave your car at the Florida hotel for $7 per car/per day. Round-trip transfers (airport to hotel & hotel to port) are provided with our Florida hotel add-on package. 


 Are local telephone calls free from our resort hotel room? 
A: No. Information available at each resort.


 Are the prices reasonable in most of the shops in the Bahamas? 
A: Very reasonable. You will find that most brand name products are 25% less than U.S. prices, plus you pay no sales tax up to $700.


What type of products can I expect to find in the shops and straw markets? 
A: Brand-name clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, and electronics from all over the world. Unique island wear and hand-made jewelry are also available at bargain prices.


What is the dress code aboard ship, on the island, and in the island restaurants? 
A: Casual or formal, your choice.


Is it possible to add or subtract days from the standard 5-day/4-night package? 
A: It may be possible to add or subtract days depending on your needs. Contact an agent for details.


How many people can stay in one room in the Bahamas? 
A: 4 people maximum in one hotel room, however, condo units can accommodate up to 6 people.


If I wish to fly to Fort Lauderdale instead of driving, what can I expect to pay for airfare?
A: Prices will vary depending on departure city.
